Hello Mirna,

We hope you are well. We have been home for a couple of days now, and thoroughly enjoyed Croatia.

We loved the Esplanade Hotel, we had a fantastic room, overlooking the park. We found the walk up to the old centre easy, but did also make use of the trams, which made getting back to the hotel for a break during the day easy.

We ate at Trilogija, and found the service to be very good, friendly and helpful. The food was good. We wanted to try Mundoaka on the Monday night, but hadn’t booked, so when we did arrive the staff were not helpful at all. We asked three staff about the possibility of a table, and none of them actually provided any assistance. Our fault for not booking, but we found the service poor regardless. After waiting for some time, we left and found somewhere else (which we loved – so it ended well and we enjoyed the night). I expect if we had booked, it would have gone well.

Hotel Monte Mulini was better than we expected. We loved this hotel, it was the best of the trip. Such a great setting. We had dinner there one night in the Mediterraneno restaurant, and it was excellent, food and service. I would recommend it.

We also ate at Tipico from your list, and had excellent seafood there. The service was great too. I would recommend Tipico too.

Judita Palace was also very good. The location was excellent for seeing the old centre as you are right in it. The hotel staff printed our tickets and took us right to the ferry to Hvar by buggy, this was excellent.

We wanted to try Konoba Matejuska, but they were fully booked, so we instead tried Konoba Marjan which is near by. We loved our meal here, we had a seafood platter for 2.

Villa Nora’s staff were fantastic. So friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great despite not being a buffet style like the larger hotels’ provide. Our room was large and we appreciated the extra room, even though the junior suite had not been our first choice. I will say it was noisy, very noisy on one night as our room was directly above the restaurant, but we had expected it could be from other reviews we read online. And we knew this was likely for many Hvar hotels.

I had caught a bad cold at this point, so we didn’t try any of the recommended restaurants. (Mike had the cold in Zagreb!)

The Hotel Excelsior was excellent. This was helped in part by us being lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite with a great view. We saw the fireworks from our balcony, so we are glad you advised us they would be on.

All the transfers went smoothly, we were so happy that we didn’t have a single worry with any of them. They were on time, the cars were clean, and the drivers friendly and helpful.

Overall, we can’t thank you enough for how it turned out. We had an excellent time and found you and Secret Dalmatia outstanding. I will certainly recommend you to others, and will add something to Trip Advisor soon. The paperwork you sent us was perfect and informative.

It was a shame we were out when you tried to visit us. Here is a photo of us in Rovinj for you.

Do you do holidays for any other countries, out of interest? Or purely Croatia?
