Hi Dubravka,

well we are home after our amazing trip to your beautiful country. Branton and I thought about our tour and ran through in our minds the things we requested way back when we filled in our trip form - "dinners we like to find our own little restaurants and bars for drinks like locals. free time from 4pm day trip to islands country drives, local markets, small town coffee shops, seafood" I think we also didn't want to be loaded down with Cathedrals, monuments etc, but wanted off the tourist track and head to the hills.

Well we got all of this and so much more. The hotels were just amazing, meeting all our expectations and all were very well located for us to explore after our days touring and free time.

Perfect stay in Croatia

As promised, what follows is a more detailed description of what we thought of the various hotels, guides and tours. All in all, it was an amazing trip that you put together for us. I wrote this and Ellyn took a look at it, so I think it encompasses both of our views but she can add in anything I missed. (Rich also read it and concurs.)

Airport transfers and drivers during the trip – on time, nice people, nice clean cars.

Hotel Kompas – We were very happy with the hotel. The rooms were large, we had good service and it was a beautiful setting to watch the sunsets. We enjoyed our breakfasts outside as well as one dinner. The breakfast spread was huge with a lot of variety of Croatian and other dishes, pastries etc. I was concerned about the hotel not being in the city, but we were quite pleased with the location and so glad you recommended it. Perfect stay in Croatia

Hi Dubravka,

We’ve returned to Canada and are attempting to recover from the jet lag. We have wonderful memories of the program you put together for us. We really liked the hotels you put us into and the varied programming. We especially loved the day on the boat, the hiking and fabulous wine pairing lunch on Brac with Dom and the day touring the hilltop towns from Rovinj although the rest was also very enjoyable.

If we had to make one suggestion, the day we drove from Split to Plitvice Lakes to Rovinj was a long one, with over 6 hours of driving. Although the lakes were beautiful, it might have been better to shorten the drive by going straight to Rovinj and then doing a little touring or time on our own exploring Rovinj after we arrived. However, that’s not to say we didn’t enjoy that day – we did.

Perfect Family Adventure in Croatia

Hi Dubravka...thank you for checking in with us. We had a great trip. Thank you for all of your help. We loved our itinerary. You did a great job!

We loved all of the destinations. For me, the highlight of the trip was the Lemongarden on Brac. It was really special. In all of my travels, the Lemongarden stands out as my all time favorite hotel and destination. The hike to the monastery was amazing (even though it was hot!). I am really glad we got to see it.

I thought we had just the right amount of time in each location. We never felt rushed and we did not run out of things to do either. It really was perfect.

We loved Judita Palace and of course, Lemongarden. We thought The Excelsior was fair. The service was not great and it felt a bit big for us and was very crowded. We were not able to sit outside near the water because there was not enough room. All of th... >>> read more>>>

Hi Dubravka-

Thank you again for all of your work to make our trip so amazing. We know there are a huge number of moving parts to this and appreciate the care and attention you took to make it happen so smoothly. Croatia is an amazing and beautiful country. We are so glad we got the chance to explore some of it .

1. I appreciated you checking in with us.
2. Our transfers all went well – we were delayed into Venice but you guys reacted well with little delay.
3. Our drivers were outstanding – I may not have their real names (even though I’m now fluent in Croatian....) but Daniel, Harry and Franke were all professional and engaging. We enjoyed learning about the country through their experiences and thought all of them were very thoughtful and fun.

Family adventure in Croatia

Hi, our apologies for the delayed email. The kids started school and we resumed back to our busy schedule. We absolutely loved our time in Croatia and cannot wait to return one day.

Dubravka - you had every detailed taken care of which allowed us to have a stress free holiday. We really appreciate all the effort you made to arrange the itinerary. Here is our feedback on the trip.

Zagreb - we really enjoyed staying at the historic Hotel Esplanade. Staying there for the one evening was a nice start to the trip as it allowed us to get rested after a long flight. We were disappointed to know that we did pay for an early check in but were not accommodated upon arrival.

All the chauffeurs were extremely professional. We felt that they were very good drivers and made safe choices (i.e. not speeding, or making abrupt lane changes).
