Dear Mariana,

I wanted to write to tell you that Kevin and I had a wonderful time while in Croatia! Thank you so much for helping us plan our trip. We knew very little about the country when I first contacted you so your expertise was extremely valuable.

First, the itinerary you suggested was perfect. We appreciated visiting the various regions of the country. It helped us gain a better understanding of how history has shaped each area in a unique way. The driving on travel days was extremely easy and the time on the road was manageable. It was also fun to use the ferry system. We never felt tired after moving from one location to another. It was also nice to have a car so we could take side trips (Krka National Park, Mass in Supetar, etc) and explore things on our own.

Second, the accommodations that you booked for us were wonderful. If we had to choose a favorite, we would pick Hotel More in Dubrovnik, simply because of the spectacular view off our balcony. We both think it was the most gorgeous view we have have ever had in a hotel! The sunsets were breath-taking. Each hotel we stayed in was conveniently located, beautifully appointed, and professionally staffed. I hope you will pass on a compliment for us. We had one receptionist at Hotel Bol. I can’t remember her name. I believe you spoke to her on the phone on Friday night when we were waiting for our driver. Anyway, she was wonderful! We found her to be extremely pleasant and helpful 🙂 We had wanted to thank her personally when we were leaving Bol but she was off duty.

Third, the various tours you scheduled were both fun and informative. We made memories that we will cherish for years to come. We especially enjoyed the truffle hunt, the cooking class, and the wine tasting in Zagreb!! Our guides were knowledgable, friendly and a lot of fun!! We also appreciated learning about them, their families and their lives in Croatia. We especially loved Ada (Istra). It was fun slipping in the mud together on our truffle hunt and eating fabulous treats afterward. She also told us about a local festival in Buzet. So on our free day, we added a stop to that village so we could see how the locals celebrate. It was a worthwhile experience for us!

Finally, we appreciated your constant vigilance in making sure our trip went smoothly. We appreciated that you called our hotels ahead of time to make sure everything was ready. We also noticed how you checked with our tour guides to make sure our excursions went well. We especially loved meeting you in Split and enjoying coffee in the outdoor cafe and learning more about your life and family history.

Thank you again for everything! I cannot wait until we can visit Croatia again. As I mentioned, we would like to bring our grown children with us the next time we come. When that time arrives, I’ll be in touch so we can work together again. I am already looking forward to that day 🙂
